One Young World74,049 followers3w Today we have Jose in the spotlight! 💡 Jose believes that the youth is the future of sustainable change, so he created Sustenta Honduras. ✨ A youth-led NGO, which does capacity-building, promotes opportunities and action for climate change. His leadership has created a network of highly motivated leaders, tackling climate problems from various angles, be it activism, entrepreneurship, or community-led initiatives. 🏅 The organisation uses engaging content, like podcasts, petitions, and videos to encourage young people to join the conversation about the climate crisis.🌱 Through capacity building, Sustenta Honduras equips young people to reform practices surrounding policy, business, and education, to adapt them to the current climate change emergency that the world is facing. As a result of this, local government bodies have been trained to adapt to the climate crisis enabling 25 Municipalities in 2022 to integrate the Network of Green Municipalities of Honduras. They built 25 local educational centers, in order to promote youth networks for climate action. 🌎 Jose has been a part of a task in USAID’s (United States Agency for International Development) Northern triangle, where he sat down with policymakers to endorse policy change and recommended incubators for a more inclusive and robust response to climate change.
